Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is a must-experience Savannah tradition. Since 1943, Sema Wilkes (and now her family since her passing in 2002) has served up authentic southern working-class fare in a traditional boarding house setting. Lines gather every morning waiting for the 11 am opening. Diners find a place at communal tables to experience a family-style meal that would make their grandmothers proud.
