October is a perfect time to visit your favorite Savannah restaurant! The weather is still beautifully warm and great for enjoying lazy late lunches on patios. Tables are often easier to find as the summer crush of visitors begins to let off (although reservations at most restaurants are still recommended). Check out the weekly deals often to find great prices on a night out with or without the kids. Here is a compilation of this month's news from local Savannah restaurants:

Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is a must-experience Savannah tradition. Since 1943, Sema Wilkes (and now her family since her passing in 2002) has served up authentic southern working-class fare in a traditional boarding house setting. Lines gather every morning waiting for the 11 am opening. Diners find a place at communal tables to experience a family-style meal that would make their grandmothers proud.
